Making a Difference Through Education!
Programs for residents of Moody and Regina Manors*
The Reading Room helps children ages 3-5 learn through fun, hands-on experiences. Cooperative play, color, letter, and number identification, being kind and showing respect for others offer a strong base from which to build. The children develop a love of learning, a desire to read and an interest in exploring the world around them.
K-8 After School Support
Homework assist, tutoring, access to technology, supplies for completing projects, caring/competent supervision all help children excel academically. In partnership with Connecting Kids to Meals, a nutritious meal is part of this program which is must for our EdChoice students. Transportation is provided.
In partnership with Penta Career Center, The Mareda Center offers adults an opportunity to obtain their GED. The EdChoice Scholarship is a State of Ohio program providing low-income students in underperforming public schools the opportunity to attend participating private schools on a renewable scholarship. The Mareda Center staff assist parents in all the many steps required to get the children approved for the scholarship and enrolled in the “best match” school. The summer “Boot Camp” and after school program are required so the children are fully supported in theirlearning. Nearly 100 children have been helped with their education through this process. Some have made honor roll and all are supported in the various facets of their education.
