March 2020

The Mareda Center continues to be dedicated to impacting our neighbors through education, however our services have changed dramatically in response to the COVID-19.

Currently, we have shifted our focus to supporting families who are fighting this horrible virus.  We have provided families with cleaning supplies and instructions, shelf stable food, and a hotline to help connect those in need to mental health providers and/or help with questions.  We have included games and family activities to help our neighbors through this challenging time.  We are a food distribution site for families needing to access breakfast and lunches students would usually get through their schools.  Meal packs can be picked up between 11am & 1 pm Monday-Friday.  Look for us on YouTube & Facebook, too!

So much has changed in such a short time that we, as a community, have been immediately reminded that we truly are all in this together.

We have taken the necessary steps to insure our staff is safe by reducing the number of staff who are on site at the same time, taking temperatures prior to entering the building, requiring hand washing and protective gear at set times throughout shifts, and having staff work separately preparing for various deliveries (always more than 6 feet apart).  We hope you, in your homes, have taken the necessary steps to stay safe as well.

If you are in a position to support our efforts, please click the ‘Donate Today’ button so we can keep this critical work going through the pandemic.

Together, we will come through this and be a stronger neighborhood, a stronger community & a stronger nation.
